I've always liked the look of falsies but always hated the thought of dealing with glues. I can't even put on mascara without poking an eye out, I would certainly end up gluing an eye shut, smh. So I bought a pair of magnetic lashes.Luxillia caught my eye because they are more "realistic" looking - not super flashy and more of an every-day look. I also liked their 6-month money-back guarantee, ha. Upon delivery, I was immediately super impressed with their packaging. I'm a bit of a packaging nerd, and this isn't, like, Apple, or anything, but it definitely blew my expectations out of the water for a simple lash/liner kit for less than twenty bucks. The case is very sturdy and everything was neatly packaged inside, including paper materials (like their nicely folded instructions-slash-thank-you note! <3). I originally didn't plan on keeping whatever bum packaging my lashes would come in, and so bought a separate case.but Luxillia's is very nice so I will definitely hold on to it! I bought the 1-pack so there's room in it for the lashes, eyeliner, lash brush, and tweezers (I'm not sure "tweezers" is the right term for those, but speaking of them, I'm so glad they were included because I only have metal tweezers which interfere with the magnets, messing up the application). And speaking of the application! I've never worn falsies of any sort before and I'm definitely not the best at makeup. The included instructions link to demonstration videos and those girls make it look so easy, drawing a flawless line in three seconds flat! For me, it took a few minutes to line my eye to my satisfaction. The videos say to let it dry for about 20 seconds, apply a second coat (if your first wasn't thick), and then wait another 20 seconds or so to apply the lashes. I don't know if it was the humidity of south Texas, but even after a full minute I found the mascara wasn't dry enough for handling. I'd stick on the lashes, try to adjust, and the mascara would come off with the magnet.so I re-applied and let it dry for maybe ten minutes (got distracted watching more makeup videos, oops), and then they went on so easily it was a bit mind-blowing! Wore them for hours and they were still securely attached when I was through! The only "con" I've found thus far is.well, the magnets. For those without natural eyelashes, they are a bit large and can be seen up close. But, if you did -not- burn off your lashes in high school science class (WEAR YOUR GOGGLES KIDDOS), your natural lashes will hide this easily. Even if not, I really don't think it's noticeable at all unless someone is really up in your face trying to ruin your day by pointing out your magnet lashes!A brief note on construction - the eyeliner brush tip came kind of.frizzled? at the end? as seen in my photo, but I literally just wiped/pinched it down with a scrap piece of toilet paper and it went back to being properly pointed. Not sure if the magnetic something-or-another messed it up in shipping or something, but no big. The eyelashes themselves feel pretty sturdily made, but are also very soft, ah! Like so SO soft! Although I've never worn other falsies, I've been in contact with them and they were so stiff/hard I thought they would definitely poke and irritate my skin. Not an issue with these. If they weren't touted as "vegan," I'd guess they were made of human hair!If you're on the fence, I'd say definitely try them! They're a lot of fun, lol.
