Fits well in the hand, the top part is easy to remove - and still. will not detach immediately and cause a disaster if you are careless enough to pick it up by the lid. Seems like a good fill. Comes with a nice spoon. The only problem is that there's usually too much coffee in a 12-ounce bag to fit in this container. Either the reference to 16 ounces in the summary should refer to beans and not ground coffee, or this is an error. The shovel should be kept upside down, if you keep it in a container that can be dirty, the fuller it will be. I bought it to reduce clutter on the counter and it serves that purpose and looks good.
