These lights aren't bad but when controlled from Arduino using the fastLED library they tend to be VERY blue. The total luminous flux should be almost white - it's more like electric turquoise. I also tested by programming a rainbow on a strip that appeared as a single red pixel surrounded by some pinks and then a huge area of teal and blue. First I thought I didn't set the RGB order correctly, then I thought I had voltage issues and after exhausting everything else I turned to the setCorrection fastLED function. FastLED's suggested color correction for 5050 SMDs is 0xFFB0F0 (meaning 255 red, 176 green, 240 blue), which still looked very blue - until I rotated the blue and green very aggressively (0xFF6030 or 255 red, 96 green, and 48 blue ), the rainbow started to look like a rainbow. If you want your project to be bright and colorful, rather than just overly turquoise, you're going to need a significant amount of color grading.
