upset. fits bath toy

Saw the star rating on this toy and thought it was $$$ for a kid's toy and it looked cool but stopped working a week after purchase. I went back to see if there was some maintenance I needed to do if maybe it was just eating the batteries. I read that a few people had a toy that broke or stopped working shortly after purchase. So why are we tricking people into thinking this toy is good and giving it 4-5 stars when it's really bad quality? For $35 I expect it to last over a week before dying and hopefully that won't be viewed as unreasonable. I'm going to read a great review describing how to unlock the motor but I find it ridiculous to do this 10 days after opening the box.
