Works well as intended and advertised. Definitely needs some use to bring out the natural flavor. My dogs would have destroyed it if I hadn't put it up and down. After a few weeks I was able to leave it on the counter. I didn't count but hair loss wasn't a problem, maybe a few hairs in the first week. It's quite hard, more than my ideal, but I see that others prefer it.
