TL;DR: Only used for a week with Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (Exynos). This was the cheapest Dex adapter at Revain and I only half expected it to work so I was glad it actually worked. However, there are several problems, but not deal breakers. Finally, it's perfect for the occasional skill test. First off, I've only been using this item for a little over a week so I can't comment on its durability or the issues that will inevitably arise with age. .I want to start with the physical aspects. It's very "apple" in design, which I find particularly unappealing (white and silver), but it catches the eye. It's made of plastic and some lightweight metal material (I'm guessing it's some sort of aluminum, but I don't know). It rattles a bit when you plug something into it, but it's solid on its own. One port was a little finicky, although it could just be my device, I found that some of my USB cables weren't plugged in securely and were wiggling. a bit (although it didn't seem to affect the connection, but I've only had 1 week with it). Although the HDMI port is solid. The USB connection to the phone is too wide. It will not connect to my phone with the case that came with the Samsung Note 9, nor with the ESR case that I purchased here at Revain. As a result, I had to remove the case to use it, which caused the item to lose 1 star. The main reason I got this was to play with Dex and it really works. So for that price you get a Dex adapter. This is definitely a big plus. However, after a while I found that Dex (and the HDMI output) were disabled and required a physical reconnection. This has happened twice now, but I can't reproduce it with device shaking or even (light) tapping. I'll update when I find out why this is happening. All USB ports work and the USB-C port works for charging and supports fast charging. I was able to use this with a monitor, keyboard and mouse. It all worked. Ultimately, it's a great device to test and play with Dex, and it's excellent value for money. Basically it is a 3 star room but the price gives it 4 stars. However, if you are serious about using the Dex for work and long hours, I would recommend considering a more reliable adapter.
