I had problems installing the software on Win XP, it was not recognized at first. After uninstalling and reinstalling everything worked. I think part of the problem many people have with this player is that the manual is terribly written and very sparse. The installation screenshots that ask you to press CONTINUE and OK are not instruction manuals! Management gets 1 star. On the other hand, I don't think many people with memory card problems bother to even read the manual. Without problems I hear the addition of memory cards. The thing is, you have to format them using the software that comes with them. If you don't, they won't work. Everything is simple and clear. Not a bad player, but the sound quality isn't the best. This is acceptable to me because, contrary to popular belief, MP3 is one of the worst digital music audio formats at any bitrate. In an effort to increase the space/time on my player, I've been experimenting by adding the same song encoded at different bitrates from 96k to 320k. I couldn't tell much of a difference between them. This is good news as you can lower the bitrate to save space and add more music. If you're an audiophile like me, you already know that whatever bitrate you use will be bad compared to your usual bitrate, so at least you can take advantage of that fact. The interface and controls are very simple. . Like many others, I only bought it for a workout. It serves its purpose perfectly and at an affordable price. A small display shows, among other things, the volume level, track number and playing time as well as the settings for the integrated equalizer and the playback mode. No, it doesn't show the title of the MP3 being played, but think about it. You encoded an MP3, you put it in because you wanted to hear it. I think you can tell what song it is by hearing it. I see no need for a more complex display for this player. For the price alone I would be willing to give this player 5 stars, but I can't due to certain shortcomings. The first is the guide as I said above. The second is the headphones, their incessant hiss and inability to reproduce a wide range of audio frequencies. Throw them in the trash right now and put on a pair worth at least $30 and you'll hear the difference between day and night (although that can apply to just about any free pair of headphones you get with the device) . Third. The shuffle mode is not random at all. From time to time it will play the tracks in the exact "random" order. I've experimented with this by removing the battery, loading new music in, etc, and it just keeps playing the same tracks with no sequence. On the button, it's schizophrenic at best. Either he's hypersensitive, or he's completely rigid and unresponsive. This, of course, happens in any situation that would be worse. It turns on very easily in a pocket and when you try to turn it off it prefers to be stubborn. In short, if you're looking for a player without a lot of investment and something that you don't want to worry about breaking or needing to be replaced, this is the perfect player. Sufficient storage capacity and low price make it an ideal choice for workouts and casual listening.
