They are great for dividing a shelf into sections but not so good for dividing books into sections. I'm a tutor and was looking for a solution to divide up the shelf space based on the materials I need for each student. While doing their job, some of them were damaged within the first month of use because they cannot withstand the flexing that the books put on them when the books fall one way or the other. If the clip that wraps around the shelf was reinforced with metal it would suit my needs much better. At the same time, marketers suggest using them to divide shelves into individual items and create a more organized closet. They are perfect for that.
