We have two bedrooms on the third floor and were looking for new ceiling lights that would be cozy but stylish. When this lamp crossed our path, I thought we found it. But sadly it's completely useless and not over 20 years old for release in the US. What makes it useless is that the base plate is solid except for four mounting screw holes and a very small hole well lined up for wiring. . This is a great hole if your wiring is completely modern. But if your house is older, say 20 years old, this light cannot be connected. In addition, this light requires hot, neutral and grounded. This also only works with rewiring. If you have an older home, don't choose this light fixture unless it has been rewired or remodeled. The manufacturer would do well to provide at least one set of secure hookup wires that would run through the base plate to allow the unit to be plugged into the ceiling box, but they don't. A harness for less than a dollar can make all the difference. Also pay attention to the actual dimensions of the lamp. It's actually a lot smaller than the pictures on this listing. It's the size of a frisbee. In addition, the quality of the materials and design are very good and they feel solid. Our search continues.
