Starting with the ignition key removed, driver's door open and unlocked, all other doors closed.2. Insert the key into the ignition switch (do not turn) and remove it once.3. With the driver's door open, perform the following steps within 40 seconds: a. Perform 5 lock/unlock cycles with the power lock switch on the driver's door, starting with the lock. Use a steady pace and try to do about one cycle (1 lock, then one unlock) every second or two. **HERE'S A TRICK**: If your manual door lock is a bit worn, it may not turn fully left or right every time you press the switch. If it doesn't, USE YOUR OTHER HAND TO MANUALLY slide IT all the way left or right while pressing the power button. I've tried many times to put the machine into programming mode, unsuccessfully, until I noticed that the lock didn't reach the end and "took up" each time. b. Close and open the driver's door.4. Repeat point 3a above, perform 5 lock/unlock cycles, starting with the lock, give a "helping hand" if the manual lock does not go all the way left or right.5. Return to step 1 if the locks don't work at this point.8. If the locks work, do the following within 40 seconds: a. Simultaneously press the lock and unlock buttons on the new remote for about 1 second. b. Immediately after releasing the lock and unlock buttons, press and hold the lock button itself for 2 seconds. The door locks should operate once within 3 seconds, indicating successful programming. If the door locks do not work or work twice, repeat steps 8a and 8b, your remote control will not be accepted. in.
