First I answer the bad reviews about what not to stick. E6000 is the main adhesive used and needs 24 hours to properly cure. If you are gluing them to a painted piece you will need to sand away the paint where they will be. If not, then tape it to the paint, not the part. Judging by the size, most shackles are used for small to medium sized trailers. My tip: These are good metal shackles and they do a great job, but like many small metal shackles, they have a breaking point. I took the pliers and saw if I could bend them. It broke before it bent, meaning it's a more brittle and harder metal than a soft, malleable metal. PS For those just skimming, I intentionally abused that tensile strength.
