This light is pretty cool. It's rechargeable, so no batteries. It has a power button separate from the touch button for the backlight, which allows you to turn off the device completely and not accidentally turn it on. I'm sure it saves energy too. The backlight touch button has 3 settings: warm light, cool light and both together. The back of the light has two areas that are magnetic so it works well with a metal table or something. It also works well just sitting down, but it depends on the lighting angle you want. I plan to place a metal object at a 90 degree angle over a mirror to use while applying makeup.
