This camera has turned out to be a really good choice for me. (The secret to its overall great performance was that I put a class 10 card in it. I didn't experience the performance lag that many bad reviews mention.) Some of the other negative points I read in other reviews were very true. (1. it's slippery - but I have small hands, and as I got used to it I learned to hold it well (and forced myself to use the strap); 2. it's hard, a really good stitch to get - photo up -- but I could handle it 3. I wish it had a zoom that zooms in. well ;4) sometimes it's hard to get a sharp photo but with practice, trying different settings and take some photos - - film is cheap these days - I was still able to get some really good photos; I also found that the flash often blurred things too much). For a small, very light, easy to use, reliable and good value camera this was (despite its flaws) a really good buy. And I wasn't running around guarding him all the time. I used it and took about 7000 photos on my trip! and it still looks/acts like new. I was also able to film the swimming competition in Italy without any problems, which turned out absolutely beautiful! (I associate this with a class 10 card.) PS I didn't want a new touchscreen (just another thing to break, plus I put sunscreen on my hands etc).
