Review on Unveiling the Nikon COOLPIX P900 Digital Camera: Unmatched Excellence in Black by Ryan Limkk ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I do not cease to rejoice at the purchase, a very good deal!

More than two years of using the camera allows us to say that the thing is very cool, despite a bunch of minor flaws. In general, I recommend. Its pros: Huge zoom range. In fact, you can take a lot of interesting and unique photos and videos with different birds in the wild with a magnification that is not available to most other devices. Despite the apparent bulkiness, it is relatively light compared to many conventional DSLRs and mirrorless cameras. Plus super comfortable ergonomics, the device sits well in the hand. Almost does not strain the process of dragging the device with you on trips. In the case of almost any DSLR, there will be a feeling that you are carrying a brick with you, even a small one. Unexpectedly for such a device, it writes video quite well with good sound from the built-in microphone. Despite the strange and miserable (in my opinion) menu, it is quite convenient to use. Well, of course the developer made compromises to make a relatively compact device with such fantastic features. A small, unpretentious matrix will not allow you to achieve such color reproduction and quality as full-frame cameras or even cameras with an APS-C type crop. You should not expect such miracles from this wonderful device, but the quality is generally tolerable. But with an equivalent crop or full frame, you can’t run after the birds like that. Got cons: Weak battery. No charger included (the device itself charges directly from USB). The disadvantage is easily treated by purchasing additional batteries and charging them on Ali. At first, it was somewhat annoying that the developers did not install a touch screen, which was technically not difficult. But in principle, the presence of a touch screen is not required for most tasks, so it is not critical. Many have already written about the lack of RAW, but it is also not critical, given the limited capabilities of the sensor (matrix) itself. A debility situation with the fact that in M mode you can not set auto ISO. There is a manual focus mode, but it is so ugly that it is extremely inconvenient to use it, to put it mildly. The electronic viewfinder is mediocre. not even close to the 4/3 crop electronic viewfinders of Olympus or even more so full-frame Sony.
