We have a somewhat unusual hi-fi setup where all the components and speakers are housed in a large wooden cabinet with a TV on the top level. So the speakers are low and until recently sat on a wooden cabinet, which created an interesting and not entirely desirable bass response. My speakers (Mordaunt Short MS20i Pearl Edition, for those interested) needed a way to isolate them and, given their low position, a way to angle them slightly so the tweeters would shoot straight at my listening spot on the couch. These foam insulation pads, which can be used in many different configurations, are perfect for the task. MS 20is aren't lightweight, but there's no visible deformation in the foam. Despite the photos they are a very dark grey, which looks great next to my black hi-fi components and speakers. Perhaps most importantly, the sound from the speakers, particularly at low frequencies, is noticeably tighter - no more rumble, just powerful, clear bass. If you need these things, buy them. They are cool.
