Review on 🌑️ WAYSEAR Professional Radiation Detector Dosimeters: Accurate Radiation Measurement Tools for Enhanced Safety by Matt Conner

A must for vintage watch collectors

I use this test to determine if a watch or dial has radium or tritium is operated . Tritium is a weak beta emitter that does not penetrate glass, while radium (used for luminous dials from the 1910s through the late 1960s) is a fairly strong gamma emitter. If you're reading a clock with a crystal, it's most likely radium. Many older Rolex models (case backs, early subwoofers and GMTs) used radium. Radium is dangerous if inhaled or ingested, so it's a good idea to have this product if you collect or work with old clocks. The product works well and is correctly calibrated according to the ambient radiation. The only watch I own with a radium dial (a legacy from my grandfather - keep it in the basement in the barium-lined case used to protect film from TSA X-ray machines) correctly registered a speed of 70 m / rem, what is a lower value. . Watches from the late 40's - 50's. Evidence of the inherent radioactivity of stones and wood is also interesting. Not suitable for outdoor use. The supplied instructions have been translated into English. Good for use in the classroom.

Pros
  • Detects all radioactive objects: for marble/stone/soil/food/wood/uranium ore
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
