I bought these cables because the website and packaging (see my photo) clearly state that ONLY TX/RX data cables and signal ground cables are connected. It even mentions "3-wire type". That means only 3 wire right? NOT CORRECT! Yes, wires 2 and 3 are crossed as intended and pin 5 (ground) is connected directly. BUT pins 1, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are also directly connected. KEEP IN MIND! They may work for you, but if you want pins 2, 3, and 5 connected as shown, LOOK ELSEWHERE. While I'm on the subject, read my packaging photo, item 4. It makes absolutely no difference to a molded cable. You don't have access to the wires and don't have to solder them (and what difference does it make what color they were in the potted cable?)
