Do not wash. I got used to it, but a brain injury with devastating side effects put an end to it. My focus on cleaning supplies is probably the last thing I should do, but not my cleaning supplies. She even threatened to stop if I didn't buy her a new toilet brush. When I told her to go to the grocery store to get a new one, she came back empty-handed, realizing that for what they were offering and for the price they wanted, she had turned one down. Well I went to the Revain website to see if they have such an item. I'm not really surprised by what they did. Not 1, but many. I chose this beast after reading the reviews and knowing the Rubbermaid brand and price. Received it today with some other items I ordered and luckily my cleaning lady was here. I gave her a gift, just kidding, and you think I gave her a huge bonus. She immediately went into the bathroom, took off the old one and threw it away. After using the new brush she went into the bathroom with a big smile and must have thanked me 10 times now all I can do is tell the person the result of my cleaning. She loves it and if you look at John the results are very good. I think my help proved the brush works and she is happy. Her only complaint was that she thought it had to come with some sort of holder or drain container to put the brush down when not in use.
