I wasn't sure how much my 2.5 year old daughter would love this toy but we borrowed this from a friend and she seemed to like it so I did bought it to me. Until now she comes back to him from time to time and plays with him. I think this is a great toy to develop hand-eye coordination in an interesting way. We also read a lot of books that mentioned fishing and it was an easy way to show her what fishing is. We used all animal shapes and figures to tell her about ocean life and she caught each animal and told its name. It was fun because we put a lot of emphasis on the catch - hooray! You caught a crab! will you eat it No! Throw it back (and it will return a piece of the puzzle). So you can have a lot of fun with it. The quality of the toy is very good. The only annoying thing is that the rod almost got lost several times. So now we keep it separate and out of reach - and give it to her with the puzzle if she wants to use it. Problem solved. That's nice too, because in order to catch a chip, you not only need to hang a fishing rod over it, but also hover right over the magnet point - which you need to develop and develop your skills. I think this is a good and great toy!
