I've used both features. I mounted it on a large table stand and also drilled a hole and used the under table mount. Both work as advertised. But in the end I decided to go with the under-desk mount, because once installed, this stand is useless. With a desktop mount, you run the risk of hitting the stand, causing you to lose your balance and damaging your monitors. In defense of the company, they made the desktop mount exceptionally large to minimize this. However, there's no guarantee this won't happen with a multi-monitor mount if you're using the desktop variant. To avoid this problem, you must physically attach the mount to the table, whether it's a side mount or an under-table mount. The hole used to mount this stand is only about 3/8 inch. And as soon as you stop using the desk mount, you free up an incredible amount of space on your desk. What advice can I give? If you want your monitors to be even and the same height, you need to make some adjustments. Therefore, pull out the table so that you can easily access the adjustment screws from behind. The cable clamps on each lever are also made of plastic. So that they are not too stressed. Therefore, route the cable as desired before inserting the cables into the straps. This causes less stress and reduces the risk of bending them.
