As some have mentioned, the power button is VERY easy to accidentally press . For someone like me who wants a compact camera designed specifically for portability (thigh pocket or jacket pocket), this is a HUGE annoyance - almost reason enough to look for another camera. I'm constantly afraid that I'll continue to accidentally press the ON button while it's in my bag and damage the lens motor. I bought this to replace a broken SD1200 and have never had this problem with this model. One way around this is to keep it in a carrying case, but if you do get one make sure it's a sturdy case - like the Canon PSC-55 case and not one of those soft neoprene cases . The obvious downside of such a case is the extra bulk. Otherwise the rest of the camera seems fine, taking decent pictures for my personal shots. I haven't used it enough to notice any issues, but I'll update this review when I do. UPDATED (July 2012) Several serious issues caused me to throw this camera away. ok more work. In short, the camera doesn't turn on (or stays on) unless I close the camera door very tightly. - Autofocus is not stable, there are too many blurry photos that need to be retaken - I was very upset. with occasional video recording when I wanted photos - I know this is MY fault and I need to remember to change the mode switch, but I've found another camera that seems to prevent this problem. If you have the same complaints as me, try the Panasonic Lumix DMC FH-8 (or presumably another Panasonic camera from the same family?) - I bought it a week ago and in such a short time I've liked it a lot a lot of. Power button, battery/SD card door and occasional video capture issues are FIXED due to Panasonic design differences. much less frustration.
