You will need to remove the foil from both sides of the blocks
I also had a problem with some fuzzy blocks. They arrived with part that was completely clear and others that were cloudy or partially cloudy. There is a removable film on both sides. I used an x-acto knife to peel off one corner and then lightly removed the rest. Now I have a series of transparent blocks. The manufacturer really needs to pay attention to the quality control of their final product. But now that I've removed the film I think they will work just fine.
