Review on Hunter Dempsey Low Profile Ceiling Fan with LED Light and Remote Control - Enhanced Indoor Air Circulation and Convenient Control by Amanda Adams

I purchased a 44 inch low profile Hunter Dempsey remote controlled ceiling fan to replace a 30 year old fan of unknown origin in our master bedroom that should have been replaced years ago. When the pull chain would no longer turn off the light (the main reason the new fan had to have a remote control) and the motor was making an annoying noise like a dripping faucet, I started searching many websites for new fans and the Hunter brand stood. with a large number of 5-star ratings and frequent comments attesting to the Hunter's build quality. After unpacking my new fan and examining all the components, material quality, design, assembly, I would say these reviews were valid. . Installation was easy as it was just a replacement for an existing fan. Warning: you must follow the illustrated instructions as some of the components are not very intuitive to assemble. Follow the numbered steps in order and you shouldn't have a problem if your house has a ceiling fan hanger. Two assembly steps worried me: 1. Place the blue remote control box in the "canopy" (see picture). Yes, you just lay it on its side, not upright. No clips or attachment points. 2. Connect the two white wires from the receiver to the existing white wire from the ceiling (again see picture). Actually 3 white wires come out of the receiver and this third wire is the antenna and has a small almost invisible sheath at the end; leave the wire alone! Hunter should have warned people not to bother with it, and the people who did are probably the reviewers complaining about the remote not working. The remote works great and thanks to the engineer who designed the remote holster that attaches to the light panel in your home. . Keep the remote in the case to turn on the lights and control the fan during the day, and simply take the remote out of the case and place it on your bedside table before bed. Brilliant.
