The screw holes for the VESA mount are VERY badly milled. You need to insert 4 standoff screws, then the plate, then 4 screws to attach the monitor to the plate. You have to loosen and tighten a total of 8 screws several times. Doing this multiple times due to poor milling increases the chances of one of those 8 screws inside the monitor falling into a large hole clumsily placed in a recess through whatever fell in here, like an unexpected sarlac goes in. Maybe that will save you some pain. Cover this hole with tape during assembly, otherwise you will have to disassemble the new monitor or risk an electrical fire. Neither option is perfect.
