Great Computers and Accessories

My wife has a Kindle Fire and had to replace it after only a few months as the direct micro USB connector is quite long and the Kindle is easy to hold when plugged in push and release the network onto the port, to the point where it took you almost an hour to fiddle with it until you had bad luck and connected so you could charge the device, then gently lower the device to the unobtrusive cable and hope the connection will hold until the Kindle is charged. The whole point of using the Kindle Fire on AC power was that the Wi-Fi connection drained the battery FAST, so my wife kept it plugged in for extended use. The angled Startech cable provides a snug fit that doesn't push or pull on the connector as you move it, and is very short; Only sticks out 1/2 inch when inserted. The straight plug that came with the Kindle was very long, about 2 inches, plus a cord dangling from it that kept bumping into something and tugging at the Kindle connector. My wife connects the cable to a USB power adapter/charger she received from Walmart to charge the device or run it on AC power. The cable really only has two downsides, depending on which angle you take left or right, you're blocking the headphone jack, which is a problem when you're plugging in speakers, or the cable is blocking the power button, which actually isn't really one Problem, just unplug to turn on or restart your Kindle and then plug it back in. Another downside is that the cable is thin so you have to be careful with it. Just don't flinch and it's good. In case things go wrong. Well I only paid $7 to have the 6ft cable shipped including tax so no big deal. So if you use headphones or speakers often, choose the right angle, otherwise the left one so as not to block the power button. user setting. Personally, my wife uses speakers a lot when listening to podcasts, so she uses a right angle most of the time, and she likes the 6-foot cable. The Kindle cable is only 4 feet long as far as I know.
