Regular price for a regular laptop

This is a durable laptop for travel and long sessions. The SSD and the processor noticeably accelerate the start and operation of applications. The case flexes a bit, but you really have to try to flex it - which means the frame is absolutely stronger than your regular plastic case. Battery life is very good; I don't get the 20 hours promised, but I get at least 14 per session, minimum. This is definitely a professional laptop that I expect to use for years to come. However, there are some disadvantages. First, it's the price. This is a state-of-the-art laptop and the high price reflects that. This means that many of the features, from good to great, are pretty standard for devices that cost that much. So I can't say it's a bargain price as you can get a similar or better laptop from another manufacturer if you're willing to pay that price. Second, the device I received didn't have the infrared camera mentioned in the spec. And for the price, I'd like a few extra inputs. The usability of the tablet and the fingerprint sensor is not always right either. Third, Norton Security comes preinstalled. It's ridiculously aggressive if you don't pay for Norton services after the trial period is over. You keep getting update notifications and it's impossible to turn them off in Windows settings. You're reading something online and suddenly Norton opens a tab in your browser, interrupting you and reminding you to pay. The worst thing is that there is no real way to uninstall Norton. Acer invites you to contact Norton and Norton will send you a link to download a removal tool that will render your fingerprint sensor inoperable after use. You can try reinstalling the drivers, but the sensor stops working. So all you have to do is do a full reinstall and put up with Norton's non-stop notifications. For the price of this laptop, that's totally unacceptable.
