Works as advertised. Although I think the description should be changed from "Ring of Flash" to "Ring of Light". Yes, you can make a "flash" out of this, but it's not the same as a real strobe/flash, which is typically used for low-light action. I knew this was happening since this type of ring flash cost over $400. Still, it works great in macro photography, adding extra light to the subject. As others have said it's a little flimsy being all plastic but I think with the right care it will hold up. The LEDs are fairly bright, but if you're photographing moving insects or flowers moving in even the slightest breeze, you'll need to adjust your settings. Aperture number, shutter speed, ISO depending on the lighting conditions you are shooting in to get a clear picture. A "flash" in the truest sense of the word would stop this movement. Overall this is a great product that is fun to play with. Especially at the low price of $30. Just note that there are some limitations. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to experiment with macro photography without spending hundreds of dollars. The attached photo is my first ring light test shot. The flower is the size of a coin.
