Functionally, this shoe is absolutely no different than the $6 water shoes you can get at Walmart. However, the addition of laces makes them look more like athletic shoes, and the laces make them look more stylish, and it costs an extra $15 compared to the Walmart version. The image in placement is a bit deceptive as these "shoes" are made of thin fabric and therefore have no upper structure (they look like a dress sock stretched over a rubber sole) and the image in placement makes them look like the upper will each have - a substance. These shoes have absolutely no arch support. I wear them when it's raining and I want to go for a walk so a real pair of trainers doesn't get wet, but I can't imagine wearing them on a long hike, for example. Bottom line, they're cheap (like all water shoes) but more stylish.
