Review on πŸš— Cosco Mighty Fit 65 DX Convertible Car Seat: Stylish Heather Onyx Gray Design by Denise Davis

Great seat for little money

We mainly have a Britax Boulevard car seat but it is heavy and not airplane approved. We took it on trips and it was too difficult to carry the 26lb car seat around at the airport. It rattles when you check in, even if you have a well-padded holdall and can't use it. on the plane subject to availability. So we chose Cosco which is perfect due to its light weight, good reviews and aircraft certification. My husband can keep it in his car and it can be used up to 65lbs. That's a great second place. When we first tried to install the seat we found it very wobbly and unstable. What we didn't notice, however, was that even though we had the belt tight and it looked taut, there was still a lot of slack at the bottom of the seatbelt. After a second try (facing backwards and buckled in), we were able to secure the seat with no problem. This helps unfold the padding so you can see the strap directly as you pull. Our 19 month old daughter seems very comfortable in it and at 27 pounds she is a large toddler. I gave her 4 stars because the straps can mark her neck so I took her old baby seat strap pads and put them on the straps and the problem was solved. Don't expect a high end place. It's not the Mercedes or Bentley of car seats, but it's a very good and reliable Subaru of car seats, if you get my meaning. :). Of course, you can also avoid all this hassle and rent a car seat at the airport or from a car service if you book it in advance, or even from a baby gear rental, but I tried those options. For domestic travel I have used car seats from car rental companies and they have been fine. For trips abroad, the car service brought me a booster seat instead of a child seat. I had a private guide who brought a seat that had one of the straps snapped and felt the seat was not serving its true purpose. I don't want to waste time and money on misunderstandings, so I'm taking our lightweight car seat with me from now on.
