Review on Limural Replacement Shaving Butterfly Opening by Robert Johnson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Surprisingly good for the price.

I've been using Edwin Jagger for many years and decided to try something new. To be honest I only bought it because I like the aesthetic of the butterfly mechanism, but there really wasn't any other legitimate reason. It doesn't go with the rest of my chrome set, but you can't have everything. This razor is a really good weight and easier to clean than my Jagger. For some reason the chrome on my old razor always had a soap film on it which was ugly and had to be washed off, but the surface doesn't have this problem and comes clean after a simple rinse. My biggest complaint is that the outside edges are quite far from the blade making it difficult to find an edge to trim. I think this is normal with butterfly razors and with practice it can be normal too. The original quality of this item is really great, especially for the price as others have mentioned. Very well made with tight tolerances. Time will tell if it will hold up for years, but for now I highly recommend it! The included blades are mediocre at best and feel like cheap Gillette DEs, not very sharp but forgiving. My favorite Feather and Derby blades work great with this razor. If you are new to using safety razors, buy a trial pack of different razor brands and find the one that works best for you.
