I know. It's supposed to be a toy for kids but my new little doodle pup loves it anyway. He sleeps on it like a pillow and sometimes drags it around the house. So far he hasn't tried to chew it or rip out the filling, but who knows what tomorrow may bring. I actually think it keeps him company and becomes a kind of security blanket for him. Definitely not for large dogs or those with strong chewing behavior. As for the kids, I think they'll probably enjoy it. It's very soft. It has a zip opening so you can adjust the padding or wash the outside without too much trouble. It arrived very well packaged and clean. Happy tourist.
