I have to assume that the negative reviews are mainly due to user error during assembly. You get what you pay for and things aren't perfect unless you play around with them to some extent. I'm so glad I bought it and it looks great in our very small bathroom. Yes, wooden dowels don't fit like gloves so you should use wood glue or something similar (I had some Gorilla Glue lying around and used it for all the dowels; worked like a charm). The screws and anchors that come with the cabinet are flimsy if you're planning on filling it with heavy objects, so I threw them away and used a couple of 45 pound anchors I bought at a hardware store (7 $ with drill to open the hole). in drywall). Took me about 2.5 hours to assemble and hang it on the wall. USE LEVEL. There are very small issues with the finish (an uneven patch in one area) but they aren't noticeable unless you get close to them. It was so hard to find this maple color to match our vanity and mirror, and for less than $70 you can't find anything better.
