Before I tried a plastic carpet that collects dirt. It was obviously more difficult to clean and the cat peed on it and that was it. Too hard to lather and hose down all nooks and crannies. This, on the other hand, is perfect and really works. Now I no longer have stray grains flying out of a small cat room. Zero, I didn't expect it to work that well. However, you may need to buy more than 1 and make sure they are in a bottleneck where they are forced to go through both. I don't think one is enough, but 2 in a row will remove any residue from the bottom of the paws. Just make sure they are forced to walk over it so they don't just walk around it. That seems to be what a lot of low star reviews do. And don't put a litter box right on top of it and waste a lot of it, which they did. The game is seriously changing. I would recommend to all cat owners.
