These towels are large enough to use when showering at the gym. They look like giant handiwipes but are thicker. I have machine washed them, dried them and reused them many times. As I machine wash them they stretch and lose their shape but I don't mind as I need thin, absorbent, compact and lightweight towels that fit in my gym bag. Don't expect fluffy spa towels. They are designed for vacationers, so they do an excellent job. By the way, when you first use them, they should be unpeeled, wrinkled and rough. After washing, they become soft but don't shrink back to their original pocket size.
