One was gifted to me as a white elephant a few years ago but now I can't live without it and I'm gifting one to my brother in law. UV light probably helps kill germs, but that doesn't mean you'll never have to clean your toilet again. The real value is that when you get up at night, the motion sensor lights up the toilet for you, and you don't have to turn on the light and blind yourself (and in my case my significant other, because the bathroom door is positioned relative to the Batteries last a long time (maybe a year?) It's just one of those weird things you didn't know you needed in your life!
