Some reviews describe this ring as plastic. It's NOT plastic, it's light weight because it's hollow aluminum, but very strong. If you can use pliers or a screwdriver, you can install this simple towel ring. I did it in about 8 minutes. If you've ever fixed anything and you have a logical mind, you can do it. It was easy. You'll need a drill (or the awl I used, depending on the nature of the wall you're attacking), a medium Phillips screwdriver, and a 2.4mm screwdriver for the final stop screw. The wall in my bathroom is old and starting to get sandy. I used an awl to poke the hole (a 10p nail will do). It was very easy and worked great, and it took me just a few tweaks to get the depth of the screws that came with it just right. Given the condition of the wall, I knew the screws were going to loosen, so I squirted some Aline's glue (Elmer's synthetic glue) into each hole, followed by a small ball of steel wool (about the size of an eraser, give or take). ). This is a great trick for unstable screw holes. Steel wool and Alyn are great stuff! Installed in 8 minutes. After a few hours it was absolutely AMAZING! It's not going anywhere! Very satisfied, highly recommended!
