If your device is used heavily or charged often enough, a wall plug is inconvenient and unnecessary. If you charge it regularly, the port really doesn't have enough time to clog up with dust or dirt. Also, it's easy to lose the connector and wear it out faster if you have to constantly unplug and plug it in. The headphone connection is also hardly practical. If you use the headphone jack regularly, there's no time to plug it in. It's easy to rub your hand on the edge of the device and the connector simply DISCONNECTS.
