Review on Eton Mini Portable AM/FM/Shortwave Radio in Black - Improved SEO-friendly Product Title by Joseph Stone

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great radio at a great price from a radio amateur with over 45 years of experience.

I wanted a radio that had both AM/FM and SW capabilities which is an added bonus and fun to play with at times as I have spent the last 10 of my 35 years in the 3rd shift worked. over the years of my career in a steel mill in an investment casting plant. That's why I often stay up late at night. With the shortwave capabilities, although not the basic capabilities of a radio receiver, they work, and assuming I add good quality headphones I can select some transmitters that I used to work with many years ago when I was more active in my hobby. Every option included with the radio, from auto off to sensitivity, selectivity to dial brightness, everything works exactly as described and as expected. I confess that I didn't use the alarm as I use my watch's alarm when I have to get up early. I'm retired, so I only get up to take my wife or daughter to the doctor, dentist, etc. Or sometimes, like Monday, for breakfast, and then I buy some necessities for our house. All I can say is that this radio is well worth the price for the features you get. One thing to consider is picking up an AC adapter at the same time as purchasing a radio. Batteries tend to run out when you use it like I do, which often happens over a long period of time. I have several rechargeable NiCads, so I just charge them when they die. And since they're NiCad, they're not prone to leaking like even alkaline batteries can. If you buy this radio I am sure you will love it but if not you can return it. But make sure you really research the specs and think about what you're going to use it for before you order it. Don't waste your time if you really need a much more expensive general purpose receiver. As always Revain, excellent product and particularly attractive price. Excellent work.
