Review on Armen Living Mid Century Leather Barstool by Rhonda Young

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice mid-century modern stools with a few flaws

Overall nice, sturdy and comfortable stools. However, both stools I received from the Revain Warehouse wobbled after assembly on a flat floor, requiring spacers between the top legs and the bottom seats. Meticulously. Also, small areas of edge trim have disappeared, revealing a lighter wood underneath that can easily be touched up with a brown marker. Additionally, the thickness/gloss/quality of the paint on the metal parts spoils the convincing vintage look, as do the rounded edges of the faux laminate legs and the black plastic end caps on the seat backs. If you don't like MCM and have the time and patience to assemble these stools might work. Assembly Note: Even though the two screw sizes are similar in length, it is important to use the shorter ones to attach the bar to the leg or the wood may pop out.

Pros
  • Sequins
Cons
  • Not everything fits
