Review on πŸš— Premium Replacement: Dorman 924-250 Front Windshield Washer Hose for Ford/Mercury Models by Philip Lindsey

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works, but not without a little flattery from a heat gun.

2003 Taurus SEL. A working part that requires extra effort to fit properly. I hope you are mechanically inclined and have a heat gun. If all you're looking forward to is a simple, hassle-free installation, you'll be disappointed. That being said, it works great if you have a heat gun to change its shape a bit. The problem is that it appears to have been bent to fit a specific shipping carton, not necessarily for its intended purpose. The problem area is the end that has (2) 90 degree bends and runs from the hood to the top of the strut where it connects to the water source from the washer fluid reservoir. You'll need to heat it up with a hair dryer or heat gun to gently bend and twist the plastic tubing to get it working properly (unless you just want to force it and risk it). I was able to manipulate mine to make a small spiral from the hood to the strut so the hood could be opened without removing the hose mount from the strut. . I'm guessing if they were going to get it right the box would have to be twice the size to ship and it would cost them a few bucks in profit. Unfortunately, it's BAD when the only option is Dorman products. Another option I'm thinking of is a new hose and reusing the existing fittings. Much luck.

Pros
  • Wiper nozzles
Cons
  • Almost OK
