Disappointed isn't what it used to be

Let me start by saying that I was excited when I ordered these as I wore these loafers throughout my teens and teenage years with the memory that from the start they were of the finest quality and felt comfortable. When I opened the box they looked similar. But as the saying goes, you can't tell a book by its cover. When I tried, I felt something different. They didn't fit the leg and weren't comfortable. Inspection revealed that the leather insole did not extend to the front of the shoe, only about 2/3 of the way down from the heel. So if at least 1/3 of your foot was on rough skin, that was an irritation that affected the shape of the remembered general quality that corresponds to the past. It's a shame when the old reserve is compromised; I come back very disappointed
