Review on Nintendo Switch 32GB Neon Blue/Neon Red by Michal Michal ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nothing unusual, a normal product.

The new nindendo seemed like a suitable substitute for my defunct tablet (and idiocy; who knows, maybe in the future they'll crack it and figure out how to stuff the android with a second system? The screen is average; it supports touch input but isn't especially responsive; this isn't a dealbreaker for me, but it's hard to imagine that the lack of a web browser is responsible for so many problems. The Joy-cons' connection to the console is so fragile that I constantly worry about dropping it. Sadly, I don't have a single USB Type-C on the farm (if that's truly it), and the battery only lasts for approximately four hours. It's unclear whether the gadget can be charged from an external battery while traveling; I still need to sort that out. Even though I haven't finished the one game available for this system yet, it's highly unlikely that I'll buy anything else for it (save maybe the sequel). It's a cool concept in theory, but I have a feeling that in a few months it'll go the way of the Sony camcorder and collect dust for the next decade. There's this awful sensation that I wasn't properly psyched up for the loot. I can't give a higher grade since I no longer believe this product has a promising future.

Pros
  • Because to its portability, unique ways of hooking it up to a screen or TV, and overall attractiveness, Zelda
Cons
  • Because authentication for Wi-Fi at cafes and other access points takes place in a web browser, the console cannot function without the Internet being distributed from your mobile device. Except for Zelda, there is literally nothing to play, and the games sold for horse money (more expensive than retail cartridges) are vastly inferior to the myriad games available on mobile phones. Extra gear is not weak, and neither is a second joystick.
