Product is amazing, but shipping damages them

have purchased these a few times, and actually just purchased another two orders for them today. I had a set arrive this morning and the box was demolished, just absolutely obliterated by UPS. Looks like it went through a shredder for large boxes. And sure enough, the plantar that sits at the top of the stack has damage on one side of the rim. Sure, it's still usable, but I purchase these because they are reusable and remain in pristine condition season after season. So to have one start out already damaged is frustrating. If the seller reads this and is interested in replacing one large 6.1" pot then I'd be grateful. The pots themselves are amazing! I've tried everything, starting with peat pods, peat cups, solo cups, disintegrating cups, re-purposed water bottles, other cheaper reusable cups. Everything falls apart, or is a pain to manage. Drilling holes in dozens of solo cups takes time and doesn't evenly distribute water. Peat collects mold and falls apart in about 4 weeks. These things are perfect. They are extremely durable, so much so that UPS only managed to damage one of them despite absolutely destroying the box they came in. And that one is still usable, just ugly. They are far thicker walled than you are probably thinking. They have zero flexibility to them, which means they don't accidentally break when trying to get the plant out. But also means you have to use creative means to release the roots from the pot. I just slide a butter knife along all the edges carefully, then things slide out with a little shake. These uptake water extremely well, and yet lose no soil out the bottom. I have transitioned to ONLY using these for my preseason starts. I use the largest ones for tomatoes, the 2nd size down for peppers, and the smallest size for several other veggies that go outside almost immediately after sprouting. I grow about 150 plants per year. Just buy these, you don't be disappointed (unless UPS throws the box off a 10 story building, in which case you'll have one busted one).

Pros
  • Very sturdy plastic. Will last a long time
Cons
  • The small size may lead to overcrowding and competition among plants
