I have a big head so I chose this large hat over others because it was supposed to be big enough to fit comfortably. Unfortunately the the brim of the hat is a very dense foam that is sewn about half an inch inside the top hat part, causing it to be a bottleneck opening.My head fits fine inside the top part of the hat with enough extra space to be very comfortable, if it weren't for the hard and painful brim part digging into the sides of head causing headaches. I've even tried just setting the hat on top of head instead putting head in it, and the weight of the hard brim still causes the edges to cause pain. If not for that problem this would be 4 or 5 star hat.EDIT: added pics but it's hard to show how far the inside edge of the brim sticks out inside the hat. It’s really hard to capture the depth of how far it sticks out tondignintonthe side of your head. It’s not soft fabric or soft foam, it is a mid weight dense and rigid foam that has very little give.
