This is a good coat for the price. It may be polyester, not wool, but if you live in a temperate area like San Francisco, then this really is what you need. Also, polyester can be thrown in the washing machine in an emergency and attracts less lint than many of the wool coats I've tried over the past 2 weeks from various pricier brands such as Badgley Mischka and Calvin Klein. FIT: I actually bought this coat in 2 different sizes, medium and large. I'm 5'6, 36DD, medium height and usually wear between M and L in all outerwear. I found the L size in this coat to be too big for me. Buttoned it looked good and unbuttoned it looked like a tent. The medium looked neater and composed, but still had room for a sweater. In the photos where I'm in gray sweatpants, that's Big. In the photos where I'm wearing the black leggings, she's medium. LENGTH: The length was excellent - for me it's the perfect length to wear to work. He hit me right in the kneecap. COLOUR: 'Brick Red' is actually quite a bright rusty orange. I would still consider this color neutral, wearable and very flattering on the skin and face for some reason, but I could see that some people find this color too garish. I don't consider it a shade of red, FYI. It's definitely a rich but bright orange color. BELT MATCH: This coat DOES NOT have belt loops although it does come with a tie belt. I agree as the belt makes the pockets look too high (e.g. if you tighten the belt the pockets on your body will rise about an inch or so). I would just throw the belt away - it looks too high. better without a belt. If you choose to keep the belt, I'm not sure what you're going to do to avoid losing it. OTHER ALLEGRA K COATS: if it helps anyone, I also ordered a similar Allegra K double breasted coat with a polka dot lining - it's much shorter, thinner and stretchier so nothing to compare to this coat. And I ordered the Allegra K single-breasted coat - that's also a good coat for the price, but the bottom hem has a noticeable A-line. If you prefer straighter, androgynous lines, a single breasted coat will look too much like a princess cut and I would recommend this one instead.
