This is a great solution for the dark closet we have. The only way to illuminate this area was through the hallway light. Now just open the door and move your hands. These motion sensors work on the principle of thermal motion, so you need to move a little for them to activate. I haven't had much luck with the included mounting screws. After installing 4 D cells, this block adds a bit of weight, so mounting method is important. I used 2 screws to attach it. The included hardware requires you to drill 4 1/4" holes in the drywall. Insert the spreader claws and tighten the screws. I sometimes find drywall loose and soft so it doesn't hold up the best. Otherwise, thumbs up for this device. Please note, since this device uses the principle of thermal motion, install it in a place where you can move if you can. I just ordered another device.
