I'm a professional photographer and I spend a lot of time on commercial fishing boats here in Maine. Using devices safely and unobtrusively was tedious and expensive. I accidentally found this bag one day while searching for Revain - and I'm so glad! This bag was worth it. I recently did a 3 day multi-boat tour of the two islands of Maine. This bag has survived multiple lobster and seaweed shipments, but more importantly, NOTHING was wrong or even wet in my gear (except getting water on it when shooting). The bottom structure could have used some stickier velcro on the bottom drawer, but this was not a problem during use, just a note. I put a small DSLR pouch in the open top for a second large DSLR and used the bottom shelf for my DSLR and Nikonos V (dive film camera). I was able to fit some film, a light meter, 2 large SLRs, a dive camera (the size of a mirrorless camera with lens) and some rain covers for my gear. I carried my laptop in it during a trip to the islands and it worked well, I just took it off to take pictures on the water. It was also very easy to access my gear - no fiddling around and feeling like the bag was slowing me down. It was also very comfortable to wear. I'm a small person and have carried heavy gear up and down ramps at low tide (that's a 20 foot lift), over the sides of boats, in and out of the boat and along some trails to get to shore and never had to adjust or move the bag. A notable feature of this bag is the outer material. It was really hard. I really abused this thing and it was ok. He was baited, lots of seawater splashed on him, seaweed stuck to him, I dragged him through a crude lobster trap when I was in a hurry to move. nothing has damaged it and it wipes down very easily so it doesn't stink like a lot of my other bags after being treated that way. The roll closure is perhaps one of the strongest I've ever used. This is a really great feature. Survival Story: On my second raid they dropped the tank they keep their lobsters in on deck in the lobster cage so they could be weighed. and I forgot my bag at the stern (where it drains). The water gushed down and the pocket was right at 3 inches. Water for a few seconds - nothing got wet except for the fabric straps on the outside and the soft backing.
