I admit I should have read the description more thorough, as I did indeed get swayed by the "pretty" pictures. I was under the impression that given the images, the "steady" mode would set for an individual color. That is not the case, the steady mode is for all three colors at once, you can not have it steady at JUST red, JUST green, or JUST blue. If you're looking for a "classy" drink coaster to add an under-light, I would not recommend these. The pictures present it as a smooth simple glow, but really it's more of a rapid uneven fluttering akin more to a child's flash toy. If you're shopping for someone young, or a bar / party that needs eye-catching novelty I would say they're good for that, but not so much for mood lighting around a more refined cocktail.
