This item is perfect for books, tablets and other flat/thin items. It *fits* 2 liters (maybe even 2) in one of its compartments, but that's too much - it's just not made for big things. And you know what? It suits me perfectly. I needed something to hold my laptops, tablet and vita and this worked great. It's comfortable, gets lots of compliments, and feels secure on the shoulder.
