I chose the 16 x 16 x 6 box as I was looking for a way to store DVDs for a to keep for long-term storage. Of course, they are not intended as drawers that need to be accessed frequently, but for storing DVDs or CDs or for moving them, they will suffice. Since I'm using them for long-term storage, I also used paper tape as standard packing tape often dries out and peels off with long-term storage. These boxes work well as 6 inches is perfect for DVD or CD case depth and 16 inches is perfect for storing two rows of DVDs or three rows of CDs. They can hold about 56 standard DVD cases, and while I haven't tested them with CD cases, they should work fine with CD cases. Also suitable for Blu-ray, but Blu-ray boxes are slightly smaller than DVD boxes, so there is some extra storage space for Blu-ray in these boxes. This is standard cardboard so not very strong (e.g. for archiving) but for general storage of old items or for moving purposes they are great. They are not difficult to move as large DVD cases can be very heavy.
